Salary Hike Percentage Calculator
Enter your current and new salary to calculate the hike percentage and rupee increase.
How this calculator works
What it does
Use this tool to measure the percentage change between current and new compensation. It deliberately keeps the hike calculation separate from tax and take-home calculations so that a percentage increase is not confused with the increase in monthly bank credit.
Calculation
The hike percentage is the difference between new and current compensation divided by current compensation, multiplied by 100. The calculator also shows the rupee difference. For offer comparisons, use annual figures on a like-for-like basis—for example fixed compensation versus fixed compensation rather than fixed pay versus total CTC.
Example
Example: moving from ₹10 lakh to ₹12 lakh is a ₹2 lakh increase and a 20% hike. But if the ₹12 lakh offer includes a larger variable component, the guaranteed-pay increase can be smaller. The CTC-to-in-hand calculator is the next step when the structure matters.
Before relying on it
A higher percentage does not automatically mean a better offer. Variable pay, employer PF, joining bonus, retention bonus, stock compensation, tax and location costs can change the practical value. Compare the same compensation definitions before relying on the percentage.
