Gratuity Calculator India
Estimate gratuity using statutory wage, eligibility, service rounding and the current cap.
How this calculator works
What it does
Use this calculator to estimate gratuity from the wage basis, completed service and the statutory rules supported by SalaryPath. It is designed to separate the gratuity calculation from CTC and monthly take-home pay because gratuity is a service-linked benefit rather than normal monthly salary.
Calculation
The calculator uses the statutory gratuity formula implemented in SalaryPath's labour-code-aware engine, including service-rounding and eligibility logic within the supported scope. The calculation should be read together with the displayed wage basis and rule trail because employer payroll labels do not always match the statutory wage definition.
Example
Example: an employee entering the supported gratuity wage and completed service can see the estimated gratuity, the service period recognised by the engine and any cap or eligibility warnings. This makes it easier to reconcile an employer settlement statement without assuming that total CTC is the correct gratuity base.
Before relying on it
Actual entitlement can depend on employment category, continuous-service rules, termination circumstances and future legal changes. Fixed-term employment can have different treatment. The calculator should therefore be used as an estimate with the linked Ministry of Labour sources, not as a substitute for a formal settlement statement.
Useful for
- Estimate gratuity before resignation or retirement
- Check whether an employer figure uses the expected wage base
- Separate gratuity from PF and monthly salary
