CTC to In-Hand Salary Calculator

Start with a quick range, then replace assumptions with your actual offer structure for a more precise result.

₹

Quick mode intentionally returns a range. Headline CTC alone does not reveal your employer's exact PF, gratuity, variable-pay or allowance structure.

Estimated monthly in-hand
₹84,392 – ₹93,992
Confidence: medium
Conservative structure₹84,392
Upper scenario₹93,992
4 assumption / scope notes
  • Illustrative Quick Mode assumes annual gross cash is 90%–96% of CTC. This is a modelling assumption, not a statutory rule; actual offer structures vary.
  • The lower scenario models full-wage EPF using an estimated 50% PF wage base; the upper scenario models EPF at the statutory wage ceiling.
  • Professional tax was annualised using annual gross salary divided evenly across 12 months; variable-pay months can change PT in threshold-based jurisdictions.
  • Professional tax is not deducted when computing total income under section 202 new regime.
Why you can inspect this result

SalaryPath exposes the statutory rules and assumptions used instead of hiding them behind an unexplained number.

How this calculator works

What it does

CTC is not the same thing as monthly take-home pay. This calculator is built to show that gap explicitly by separating employer-side components, employee deductions and income-tax assumptions instead of pretending that a headline CTC uniquely determines one exact bank-credit amount.

Calculation

Quick mode uses transparent assumptions to produce a range when the employer structure is unknown. More detailed inputs let the user replace assumptions with actual salary components. The underlying engine then separates relevant PF, professional-tax and supported income-tax effects before producing a monthly in-hand estimate.

Example

Example: two offers with the same ₹15 lakh CTC can produce different take-home pay if one includes a larger employer PF component, variable pay or a different salary structure. Entering the actual breakup exposes those differences and avoids comparing offers only by the headline CTC number.

Before relying on it

Actual payroll can differ because of bonuses, reimbursements, joining month, previous-employer income, tax declarations, employer-specific components and unsupported professional-tax jurisdictions. Use the salary-breakup and tax tools to replace assumptions wherever you have the actual offer details.

Useful for

  • Compare job offers on estimated take-home pay
  • Understand why bank credit is lower than CTC/12
  • Trace PF and tax assumptions behind a salary estimate
